Hanoi University of Business and Technology (HUBT) was established in June 1996 under Decision No. 405/TTg of the Prime Minister (14 June 1996), with Professor Tran Phuong – Chairman of the Vietnam Economic Science Association and former Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers – as its founding Rector. Originally named Hanoi People-Founded University of Management and Business, it took its current name in 2006 as it expanded into engineering and technology, and became a private not-for-profit university in 2019.
HUBT’s mission is to educate practice-oriented economists and engineers, as well as doctors, pharmacists and nurses with strong professional skills and medical ethics. Its educational philosophy is “Proficient application – Creativity – Innovation”.
The university has its main campus at 29A, Lane 124 Vinh Tuy Street, Hanoi, and a second campus with dormitories and sports facilities in Tu Son, Bac Ninh. In 2022 HUBT was accredited for institutional quality. In 2026 the university celebrates its 30th anniversary and admits its 31st cohort across 27 undergraduate programmes.
